The American Legion post for Bloomington was formed in 1947. For many years, it operated a club at 9320 Lyndale Ave. S. That club closed in 2007. The post these days operates at the Bloomington Veterans Club, 311 W. 84th St. and conducts charitable gambling at the Sports Page Bar & Grill and Shantytown Grill. The members determine what to give the funds to during their monthly meetings. Join us and be a part of the charitable donations.
Our post meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of every month.

The Bloomington Gold and Bloomington Blue baseball teams are long-held traditions of summer in our city. We’ve even reached as far as the American Legion World Series. We offer teams for 19 and under and for 17 and under, and we have the best-looking team bus in the state. Our home games are played at Red Haddox Field.
Visit our sitePart of The American Legion’s mission is to support the youth of our country. Our post works hard to raise funds for youth programs in Bloomington. Some examples are the Bloomington Kennedy Activities Foundation, Scouting, local sports boosters, Angelica Cantanti Youth Choirs. There are too many to list them all. Those jerseys, that scoreboard, the travel expenses, we likely helped out in some manner.
